Recently I learned – because they posted their letter to Gov. Youngkin on their very own website – that the Southern Poverty Law Center used their influence to quash my appointment in the Youngkin administration to the Board of the Department of Historic Resources.
The shocking part is that no one from the Governor’s office told me that this letter had been received! Why would a Republican governor believe a single word that the SPLC has to say? And no one gave me the chance to rebut the claims and falsification of my work. Is that right to do?
The two women who authored this letter, LaShawn Warren and Kimberly Probolus, do not know me, and apparently live in Montgomery, Alabama, where the SPLC is based but nevertheless quoted my RADIO interview on Richmond’s Morning News with John Reid from December 23, 2021. One wonders how they became aware of goings on in Virginia.
In the letter, Warren and Probolus, in beguiling style and with the most cajoling of tones, cite a slew of “scholarly works”, almost all of which were published from 2019 forward, during our current Marxist “Cultural Revolution.” These women disparage our proud Virginia “civil war history” by claiming that veteran’s cenotaphs are something they are not: “white supremacy” totems. This is nothing more than employing the Marxist “Critical History Theory.”
Lies and half-truths abound as the SPLC conveniently fails to mention the similar memorial movement that took place in the North right after the war.
These two women, so cleverly and winsomely distort the Truth with innuendo, and turn of phrase, that I can hardly blame the Governor and his inner team from being led like dumb sheep to slaughter by these siren songs. The falsification that the SPLC puts forth is disgraceful, but this type of persuasive whining and misleading messaging is becoming more and more commonplace. This is their battle plan.
Remember, the SPLC also targets “Moms for Liberty,” The Virginia Christian Alliance and other Christian groups as “hate groups.”
What baffles me is that supposedly God-fearing Christian Conservatives of the Republican party – of which our Governor is ostensibly is one – listens to this group! I ask again, “why do Republicans care what the SPLC has to say?”
Are they closet Marxists? Or are they just naive, about the evil forces confronting our country?
The real question is, “WHY do Republicans listen to them?” “Why do Republicans bend the knee?”
For the record, my dissertation traced the funerary commemoration by Richmond families, Virginians, and others – even compassionate former combatants – across the war-ravaged South after the War. It studies different artistic media – painting, sculpture, battlefield-preservation, ecclesiastical decoration, and architecture--and the ceremonies surrounding these.
Why would the SPLC care about my doctoral thesis? Could it be, to quash a voice of Truth that must be canceled in the iconoclastic Marxist march?
My study, which took two years to complete, is based on verifiable facts and primary source documents, not ginned-up marketing.
I willingly shared it with those who I thought were true scholars. Sadly, I shudder to think, that these embedded iconoclasts used my writings to identify and destroy statues which people of every race—even children from black Sunday School classes -- gave pennies and dimes (which grew into dollars) to memorialize families and neighbors. Globalists hate that.
Many have asked me what does Gov. Youngkin say to the revelation of the SPLC secret “hit letter”? My answer is, here is his phone number, ask him yourself: 804/786-2211.
